St. Anthony’s High School Sports Day – 13th November 2025

 13th November 2025
St. Anthony’s High School hosted a spectacular Sports Day on the 13th of November, 2025, at Priyadarshani Park (P.D.P.) at 9 AM. The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Fr. Felix D’Souza S.J, the Principal of St. Mary’s High School (S.S.C.), who served as the chief guest.
The day began with the formal pinning of the favour, followed by our Principal, Sr. Suman Minezes, and Manager Sr. Elizabeth Mathai escorting the chief guest, with the energetic beats of the school band playing the "Bombay March" in the background.
After the opening school prayer, Fr. Felix had the honour of lighting the ceremonial torch, which was then passed on to the Sports Captain. The torch relay continued with the house captains of the Red, Blue, Green, and Yellow houses, each running 100 meters before passing the torch along the track.
The students took the Sports Oath, affirming their spirit of fair play and teamwork, and the much-awaited March Past followed. The sight of the houses marching in perfect synchronization to the beat of the band was nothing short of magnificent.
The day also featured impressive drill performances by the students of Classes I & II, III & IV, V, VI, and VII. To judge these remarkable drills, two special judges from another school were invited, adding a touch of excitement to the proceedings.
A highlight of the event was the debut performance by the school band, which for the first time ever, combined music with drill formations, adding a unique flair to the celebrations. Following this, the primary and secondary running events and novelty events kept both students and parents on the edge of their seats, with everyone thoroughly enjoying the competition.
In his address, Fr. Felix praised all the students who participated, encouraging those who didn’t compete to continue pursuing excellence. He also congratulated the winners and motivated those who didn’t win to strive for success next time.
The day ended with the much-anticipated prize distribution ceremony, where certificates and medals were awarded to the winners. The tug-of-war event, featuring students from Classes IX and X, was a true test of strength and character. The Ex-students’ Race and the Parents’ Race were also highlights, showcasing the strong bond between the school and its community.
Finally, the event concluded with the announcement of the different house championships and the lowering of the flag, marking the official end of the day’s festivities. Sr. Elizabeth Mathai, the Manager, declared the event officially closed, bringing an end to a memorable and successful Sports Day.
It was a day filled with energy, enthusiasm, and unforgettable moments, truly embodying the spirit of St. Anthony's High School.
