St. Anthony’s High School
About Us

Our Motto

The school’s motto is derived from two Latin words ‘Veritatem’ and ‘Caritatem’, which mean Truth & Love, respectively. ‘The Ship’ represents the trials that we encounter in our in lives, and ‘The Sea’ represents the ocean of knowledge we must travel. ‘The Entwining Scallop’ indicates the cord that binds the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary family. ‘The Star’ is represents the guiding light through the tribulations in our lives. The sentiments expressed in our logo are succinctly captured in the school’s motto: ‘Ad Veritatem per Caritatem’, that is, ‘To truth through love’.

Our Foundress :

Blessed Mary of the Passion

Blessed Mary of the Passion (Helen de Chappotin) was born in Nantes, France, on May 21, 1839. At the age of 21, she had a profound experience of God, which influenced her whole life. The God led her through prayer and suffering, to found the Institute of the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary on January 6, 1877. When Mary of the Passion died on November 15, 1904, the Institute had spread to 23 countries across five continents. Pope John Paul II declared her Blessed on October 20, 2002.

Prayer

O God,
Who in your admirable Providence
Have led Blessed Mary of the Passion
to found an Institute dedicated
to universal mission, deign,
we beseech You,
to grant us the graces we ask of
You through her intercession.
Grant, above all, that we may learn
from her how to be always ready to do
your will, and to grow steadfastly
in love of You.
Amen.
