Our school recently hosted an exciting and informative
two-day Bootcamp on the "Foundation of Computers and AI," conducted
by our esteemed ex-student, Ms. Mahua Dwivedi, alongside her colleague Ms.
Lubna Sheikh. This enriching experience took place for students of Classes 8
and 9, providing them with an engaging introduction to the world of technology.
The students actively participated throughout the sessions and gained valuable
insights into various aspects of computers and artificial intelligence.
Ms. Mahua Dwivedi, an alumna of the class of 2019, is
currently in her final year of Computer Engineering and serves as the President
of the Entrepreneurship Development Cell at MHSSCoE. With 1.5 years of
experience in Data Analysis and recognition as a Bloomberg APAC
Women-in-Finance initiative researcher, she brought her expertise in Data
Analysis and AI to the session. The two-day bootcamp was designed to
familiarize students with essential concepts in computer science and artificial
intelligence, and the students enthusiastically engaged with the material.
The first day covered a wide range of foundational topics,
including the history and evolution of computers, operating systems, computer
networks, and cybersecurity. Through practical examples and a well-prepared
PowerPoint presentation, the students explored the complexities of the
internet, VPNs, and the importance of data security in today’s digital age. The
students showed great interest and actively participated in the discussions and
activities.
On the second day, the session focused on the impact of
technology on society, emphasizing the use of VPNs and VPN browsers for
securing online activities, such as banking, and the importance of
cybersecurity in protecting sensitive data. Key topics included securing
banking, creating strong passwords, and the role of encryption, highlighting
how these technologies safeguard personal and financial information in the
digital world.
Ms. Lubna then took over and introduced students to AI tools
like Microsoft 365's Copilot and GenAI, which are shaping the future of
technology and innovation. She demonstrated how to prepare a PowerPoint
presentation using AI in just a few minutes on any given topic. The students
were highly engaged and showed great interest in exploring these emerging
technologies.
The Bootcamp was not only an enriching learning experience
but also a great opportunity for students to get inspired by Ms. Mahua’s
achievements and explore the exciting field of AI and technology. Their active
participation made the session even more interactive and insightful.
We extend our gratitude to Ms. Mahua Dwivedi and Ms. Lubna
Sheikh for taking the time to share their knowledge and expertise with our
students. We look forward to more such collaborations in the future!
