On August 15, 2024, St. Anthony's High School joyfully celebrated India's Independence Day with a vibrant and meaningful programme despite the rain. The event began with the ceremonial pinning of favors to our esteemed Chief Guest, Dr. Ayesha Momin, our Manager Sr. Elizabeth Mathai, and our Principal Sr. Suman Menizes.
The atmosphere was set by the energetic welcome of the school band, and the M.C.C. students warmly showered petals on Dr. Ayesha Momin and her family members. Dr. Momin, an esteemed alumna of our school, then had the honor of unfurling the National Flag. The ceremony continued with the National Anthem and a two-minute silence to honor the sacrifices of our freedom fighters.
Despite the rainy weather, students displayed remarkable enthusiasm and participation. The day's events included a heartfelt prayer service, speeches delivered in English, Hindi, and Marathi, and a selection of patriotic songs in these languages. The lively dances added a celebratory touch to the festivities.
Dr. Momin’s brief yet inspiring speech and the address by our Manager highlighted the significance of Independence Day and the values of patriotism and unity. The celebration concluded on a high note with the school anthem, reflecting the pride and spirit of our institution and the nation.
It was a memorable occasion, filled with gratitude, respect, and national pride, bringing the school community together to commemorate India's journey to freedom.
