St. Anthony’s Girls’ High School celebrated its Annual Sports Day on December 7th, 2019 on the St. Xavier’s Ground, Parel. It was a day filled with excitement and mirth.
The event commenced with the felicitation of the venerable Chief Guest, Fr. Salvador D’Souza, ofm, Principal of Good Counsel High School, Sion. The Principal, Sr. Maria Selvam welcomed the guests and the august gathering. The Chief Guest lit the ceremonial torch followed by an impressive and a well synchronized March Past by all the four Houses.
Fr. Salvador D’Souza, the Chief Guest presided over the oath taking ceremony and declared the sports meet open and he reminisced about his school days and urged the students to enjoy as well learn the most during their school days .
The most intriguing aspect, of the event, was the splendid field drills like flower drill, Hula hoop drill, bamboo drill, aerobics drill, fan drill, involving mass student participation. This was entailed by the races wherein the participants participated with full verve and vigour. The students competed in variety of races.
The zealous parents, gathered in large numbers, constantly applauded the enthusiastic young sports stars. Blue House took away the Best March Past trophy. The ground reverberating with the sound of cheers made everyone’s day. The students proposed the vote of thanks.
