The Independence Day of
India, which is celebrated religiously throughout the Country on the 15th of
August every year, holds tremendous ground in the list of national days, since
it reminds every Indian about the dawn of a new beginning, of deliverance from
the clutches of British colonialism of more than 200 years.
St. Anthony’s celebrated
Independence Day of India with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour. The
cultural programme at School commenced with the unfurling of the National Flag all
everyone singing together ‘National Anthem’ and a prayer serve. The spirit of
freedom and nationalism was well exhibited by the student-teachers through a
spectrum of patriotic speeches, songs and dance depicting the struggle of independent
India. Committed to the task of nation building, we pledged to serve our
motherland through spreading education and serving the community.
The celebrations concluded with inspiring words of our Chief Guest Fr. Lawrence Ferrao SJ followed by the song ‘We can Achieve’.
