Republic Day Celebration

Every year we, at St. Anthony’s, reaffirm our loyalty to our country, acknowledging the sacrifices by our unsung heroes, and rededicate ourselves to building a stronger and better India, an India of our dreams, built on the sweat, toil and aspirations of millions of Indians in villages, towns, metros and across the length and breadth of our country.

India is a vast country, with a diversity of unique cultural identities. Its beauty lies in its mystical lands, ranging from mountains to valleys, from seas to deserts, which articulate its pristine beauty and innate charm. National symbols are the reason for its unique identity and heritage, which bring a sense of pride and patriotism to the hearts of Indian citizens, presenting its unique image to the world.

A tribute was paid to the framers of our constitution, Dr. Rajendra Prasad, Dr. B.R Ambedhkar, Sarojini Naidu and Maulana Azad, who worked tirelessly to give India its sovereign, democratic status as a republic. The ideals of Justice, Liberty, Equality and Fraternity, that ensure the nature of the state that is a Sovereign, Socialist, Secular, Democratic republic, were highlighted. Students narrated speeches, sang various Hindi and Marathi Patriotic songs, the dances brought to an end an energetic and rousing performance to commemorate Republic Day.

The Chief Guest Advocate Arif Mohammed Siddiqui then thanked all the students who participated in the Republic Day function. The teachers who prepared the students for the function as well as the support staff who helped in the preparation and execution of the entire event were also thanked and appreciated for their contribution in her concluding speech.
