K.G. and Primary Annual Awards Day

‘Children’s World’ was the theme for the KG and Primary Annual Day held on the 24th January 2019. The evening was to unveil an array of charms our children’s world is endowed with.
Shaikh Aizah, Thakur Umaymah, Batatawala Sarah, Choudhary Aleeza and Sayed Yusra taking turns, compeered the entire show. The auspicious lamp lighting ceremony along with the prayers dance marked the start to the event. Miss. Aizah, Zubiya and Aleeza extended a warm welcome to all present. Manager Sr. Mary Joseph spoke about touching the heart of the child instead of wasting time on the touch screen mobiles.
The compeers tied up the thread line from one item to the next. The event triggered off with the National Anthem sung by the U.K.G. children, followed by welcome dance and the skit which highlighted the importance of change. The pyramids, dances thereafter was a mesmerizing cartoon parade which brought forth glimpses of the cartoon world. Each of the following items, be it a dance, skit or show, was in essence a showcase of the authentic flavour of a particular part of the child’s world.
Traditional music, life-size props, appropriate costumes and above all the performance by the children provided the synergy which conjured up the flavour unique to world of children. The Chief Guest and Manager felicitated the meritorious children and were awarded certificates and scholarships for their outstanding achievements in the field of academics. The Grand Finale dance was a magnificent show of Bollywood oldies.
The Chief Guest Fr. Sachin Lopes was outstanding in his appreciation to the students, teachers and management for a classic programme presented. He stated that he felt highly honoured and elated to have visited St. Anthony’s. He lauded the vision and the relentless hard work done by students and their mentors for presenting such a message oriented programme. The vote of thanks was extended by Miss. Sobiya, Umaymah and Zubiya.
The show was heart warming indeed. It stole the hearts of all present.
